Good Quality for good money
Anonymous 25.03.2017
I am running a small event company and needed good quality lighting stands for our LED stuff. First I wanted to buy stands by Manfrotto. Although these stands are really good and high quality I was not amused by spending 200 bugs for a good lighting stands. Another possibilty would have been these huge wind up stands for 150 bugs. Acutually these guys are very rock solid espacially if you use them outside. But the problem with these guys is that they are so heavy and big that I cannot bring them to a smaller jazz venue with my cargo van.
So I came up with the Stairville stands and tested them out. I must say that these stands are very good for the price. When I bring my 4 LED lamps in 3m height they stand quiet solid, as long as nobody falls into them because he's drunk :) And the best is, that they even fit into my 1,2 meter flightcase without any problems. So actually I can put them into my truck and also use them in smaller venues.

So all in all I am very impressed by these stands, due to the fact that they are rock solid, cheap and easy to handle.

Really Sturdy

Great support from these and a nice finish on them. Come in Cardboard box which they'll be staying in until I get a case. Much better quality than others had in the past.

Stairville BLS-315 Pro was the right choice
Andy4456 05.08.2015
A year ago I purchased five Eurolite LED 2001 light bars and an ADJ lightbridge 1 stand and truss system. The plan was to have three light bars across the back of the stage and two at the front. Great piece of kit but only when we have biggish rooms to set up for our gig as we used the extender making it a 4 metre span. For smaller venues I needed something lighter and easier to set up so spent several days and weeks comparing lighting stands and more importantly reading Thomann reviews to see if they were suitable for my needs. I decided on the Stairville BLS-315 Pro black stands based on the number of reviews that positively recommended them. I purchased five from Thomann as they were not available in the UK and elsewhere were much more expensive. They arrived within three days and were well packaged.
I made the right decision as these are perfect. The quality is spot on and they very sturdy when set up, even at the highest setting the stand feels safe and does not wobble much as previous stands have. The black finish looks great and adds to our professional sayeg set up and presence. I love that the height setting pins slot into locators on the stand as pins are a pain when you lose them. Although the stands are very high when opened out, they are also quite short when folded and ideal for packing away. Added to this there is also an added top piece to adapt a speaker, but I use this to fit a reducer tube for using another light with 28mm spigot. The stands are very versatile, top quality and look great, and would recommend these to anyone. If I needed more I would definitely buy these again. Top marks to Stairville and Thomann.

PN
Good, solid, reliable tripod
Peter N. 859 30.10.2014
My first impression of this tripod was the quality of its construction especially when the price is taken into account, it's a well made item at a very much budget sector price. The tripod is very stable in use, the locking pins are substantial, as are the hand wheels for height adjustment. The supplied adapter gives you extra flexibility regarding what you can easily mount on the stand. The steel construction enables you to properly tighten fittings without the fear of damaging the tubing, which is a common problem with the aluminium tripods. Overall, I was impressed with the tripod and can find very little to criticise apart from the weight, it's a bit heavy, but that's due to it's steel construction, unfortunately you can't have it both ways. I doubt you can find a better value tripod for the price.

Stout Stand, but heavy.
LiveSoundAK 23.02.2020
This stand is much more robust than I was expecting. Super solid. Only downside is that it is heavy. Great for a permanent install... not so great for gigging. On the contrary, the matching 4 LED light bar is light, and very portable with its included foam case. Very stable.

Built as a tank
Blackwatch 15.01.2021
The tripod is really heavy duty. I purchased to support studio flash heads and it really is an overkill for that task. The build quality is quite decent for that price point and it will last for years. The only downside is perhaps portability. Even when fully contracted the assembly is quite bulky. It will not be something to carry around with me unless I really have to. Am very happy with the purchase and will order again if needed.

I got this stand for a project I was working on and needed a stable and very neutral looking stand. I'm quite impressed with it. It performs exactly as advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. Very good product at a great price.

Was happy early days, but now?
CBAR 31.12.2023
When I bought this stand with my lights it was fine and did the job. But after a certain amount of usage (I don't gig constantly) the threads on the screws gave way and I ended up swapping bolts around etc. to get my lights raised. Considering there is no great weight on them, the quality needs to be better.

Vast upgrade
MartynM 05.02.2015
I had bought the stairville tri 3 bundle and after about a year of abuse the stands have fallen apart. These I can tell from the outset are of far superior quality and have various different height options etc. they already fill me with more confidence that lights won't fall on my keyboard players head using these as opposed to the old ones from the bundle.

Great quality, low price, very heavy....
Anonymous 22.08.2016
These stands are built like tanks, great machining, mechanisms all sound and priced like budget stands.

The only drawback is that I miscalculated the weight as written on the product description - they are really heavy! At least twice the weight of the KAM stands they are replacing.

Luckily we only use them once a month or so for weddings or function gigs so it's not too great an issue.
